Richard Merhige

Richard F. Merhige is a seasoned marine engineer and is the founder and president of Advanced Mechanical Enterprises (AME). He serves on the board of the Port Everglades Association and is the local chapter president of the SUNY Maritime College Alumni Association.  AME helped drive the launch and development of the marine industry storefront, “Sea the World” at Junior Achievement of South Florida.

Under his leadership, AME has become a globally recognized provider of vibration analysis, laser alignment, and balancing services for marine and industrial sectors. Rich is a frequent speaker at industry events such as the International Workboat Show and International Yacht Brokers Association Yacht Engineering Seminar. He is also a proud member of numerous professional organizations including: the Society of Naval Architects & Marine Engineers, American Society of Naval Engineers, American Boat & Yacht Council, Propeller Club of the Port of Miami, US Superyacht Association, South Florida Manufacturing, Florida Water Resources Council and the Vibration Institute.
