James Brewer is a 45-year veteran of the South Florida marine industry as general manager of profitable shipyards with direct project management experience. He has conducted multi-million-dollar megayacht refit projects and new construction, most recently as leader of Derecktor’s project management team for construction of the superyacht Cakewalk V, which, at 281 feet and 2998 GT, is the largest private yacht ever built in the USA.

James has served as principal liaison between customer and shipyard at Derecktor, Rybovich, Broward Marine and Roscioli, with direct responsibility for budgeting, scheduling and the performance of in-house personnel and subcontractors, with consistent on-time and on-budget outcomes. He possesses a collaborative management style with excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills. James enjoys strong professional relationships with the local and national vendor base and has a reputation for fairness and integrity. He is an effective and articulate communicator with proven team-building ability, having managed workforces of up to 400 trades-people.

James is presently Vice President of Facilities at Bradford Marine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he leads day-to-day facility maintenance and repair, and all capital projects, reporting directly to the President.
