Past Event - Pier Sixty-Six Ground Breaking

A ceremonial groundbreaking for the new complex at Pier Sixty-Six took place on March 12th with local leaders and elected officials praising the much-needed renovation of the hotel and historic rotating roof top venue, which holds fond memories for many longtime Fort Lauderdale and South Florida residents. The new facility will include an additional hotel building, high-end residences, eight restaurants, and a two-story pool experience. Construction is underway and is expected to be completed in phases, with an eventual promenade under the 17th Street Causeway bridge connecting to a redeveloped Pier South in the future.
