The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) partnered with Broward County to hold a New River Crossing Stakeholder Workshop to discuss alternatives for a new crossing. Stakeholders were all invited to attend this public meeting to discuss different solutions about a new crossing of the New River for passenger rail. This workshop and future decision is vital to continued growth and success of our industry. NO BUILD IS NOT AN OPTION and as the discussion continues to determine a solution, it is important that we all continue to come together and advocate for the option that will benefit continued growth for our industry and local businesses. We are in full support of a 56’ bridge option and, if it is cost and time effective, the tunnel is another viable alternative. It was great to see everyone from our industry who was able to attend and voice our perspective, ideas, and reasoning that supports our industry.
