MIASF is happy to announce that the Yacht Service Technician Apprenticeship Program (YSTAP) is about to begin its second class. Beginning January 11, 2021, the apprenticeship program will grow from its current 4 apprentices to a total of 22, 18 of which will begin their first year whereas the first 4 will be entering their final term. We have worked very hard this past year to grow the program with the help of a dedicated team that includes staff, member businesses, Atlantic Technical College, the Florida Department of Education and a dedicated instructor.

We are thrilled to announce that twelve member businesses have stepped up to take part in the YSTAP program. Our current members onboard: Advanced Mechanical Enterprises (AME), Bradford Marine, Derecktor Shipyard, Engineered Yacht Solutions, FHG Marine Engineering, Gillen Yacht Services, High Seas Technology, High Seas Yacht Service, Lauderdale Marine Center (LMC), MarineMax, RMK Merrill-Stevens, and Rolly Marine. Each of these companies have taken a step forward to help our industry develop high skilled workers that will be a valuable resource for not only the companies they represent, but the industry as a whole. We couldn’t accomplish this without everyone working together and we will continue to work on growing the program each year.
