Megan Piggott Presents to Youth Leadership Broward

Leadership Broward’s Youth Leadership Program invited MIASF to speak at their monthly program day in November. This month’s program day was Business & Media Day and provided the students in the program that opportunity to hear about some of the community’s excellent career opportunities in some of their leading businesses and industries. Megan Piggott, Director of Marketing & Workforce Development, presented about the job opportunities available in the marine industry, the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, Salty Jobs, and events and programs throughout the year the students can get involved with now in our industry. Megan was also joined by fellow speakers David Coddington of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance who shared about some of the leading businesses in the Fort Lauderdale community and Scott Moss of Moss Construction who shared insight into his company and the construction industry. The presentation was hosted at Moss Construction for the more than 50 students going through the program.
Youth Leadership Broward is a program open to rising juniors in high school who excel as leaders in the classroom. The program is nine months long and utilizes real-life experiences to introduce the students to a wide variety of community leaders, government agencies, and organizations. MIASF is also excited to take part in this program to meet some of the best and brightest students in Broward County to promote our industry and the myriad of opportunities within it.
