This month’s member spotlight features Wright Maritime Group (WMG), a locally headquartered company with a global presence. WMG has mastered the art of seamlessly managing large yacht construction and operations management for their clients and done it in a way that infuses corporate and client values into every project.
This values-based approach to their work was the catalyst for creation of The Academy – their name for their Fort Lauderdale headquarters. Yes, the facility has the same high-energy feel you’d find on a college campus, but the name is about more than that. It reflects the collaborative environment WMG has built to support clients and carry core values into the work they do across all industry sectors, including local community support.
WMG walks the talk when it comes to local community support and involvement, too. Among the efforts they support, WMG is a longtime supporter and participant of the MIASF’s Waterway Cleanup project, they’ve joined forces with AARP and the Miami Dolphins to package meals for seniors in need, and they’ve built homes with Habitat for Humanity. Their commitment to South Florida is steadfast.
They’ve expanded this support globally by involving their clients, too. When disasters strike anywhere in the world, WMG collaborates with owners to help coordinate the re-routing of yachts for delivery of needed supplies. They also work with clients to add special features like extra water production and electrical generation capabilities during the design and build phase, ensuring new yachts are able to offer even more relief during times of need.
