This month’s member spotlight shines on Naiad Dynamics, an industry leader in ship motion control. For more than 130 years, Naiad has been at the forefront of innovations in the luxury yacht, commercial ship, and military vessel markets.
What began with the world’s first yacht stabilizer designed by John I. Thornycroft & Co. in 1891 has evolved into a multitude of products and services. Today, you can find Naiad’s Total Ride Control® system in most of the world’s commercial fast ferries and the vessels of 55 of the world’s Navies and Coast Guards.
The company’s lines of hydraulic and electric stabilizers are incorporated into the designs of not only commercial and military ships, but also luxury yachts of all sizes. Their AtRest® system was the first to incorporate stabilizer fins into luxury yachts to significantly reduce the roll of the vessel at anchor.
Today, Naiad provides products and services around the world, and is involved in every aspect of ship construction, from early planning to thru-life support and maintenance. They have offices in five countries, including England, France, Netherlands, Australia, and the United States. In the U.S., you can find Naiad offices in Connecticut, Maryland, and Florida.
You can find out more about Naiad on their website at, or contact their Fort Lauderdale facility at 3750 Hacienda Blvd, Suite A, (954) 797-7566.
