The 4th Annual Marine Industry Elevator Pitch Competition is officially underway, and you have the opportunity to be a judge for the competition! Earlier this month, Emily Burchwell from Lauderdale Marine Center, and Megan Piggott presented the project to the students in the Marine Magnet Program at South Broward High School. The students are challenged to create an elevator pitch presentation about a specific career in the marine industry they are interested in and persuade the judges why they would be a good fit for that position. It’s a great opportunity for the students to practice public speaking, learn about jobs in the marine industry, and meet leaders in our industry. The overall winner of the competition will receive a $500 scholarship!
This year, the competition will take place virtually and we are in need of judges for multiple rounds of competition. The dates of the competition are as follows:
· Wednesday, February 24th- 8:30 – 10:30 am
· Thursday, February 25th – 1:00 - 3:00 pm
· Thursday, March 11th – 8:30 – 10:30 am
If you are interested in being a judge, please email Megan Piggott at Megan@miasf.org.
