WHY JOIN?

Created in 1961, MIASF is a not-for-profit trade group focused on the sound growth of the marine industry in the South Florida Region for the benefit its members and their customers, local communities, and the environment. The association has more than 400 members in Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties and is the owner of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Through the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, advocacy efforts, programs, and services. MIASF has raised the professionalism of the industry and an awareness of its impact and contributions by the public and elected and regulatory officials at the local, state, and federal levels. Members have fostered a reputation for the region to be known as the goods and services capital of the world for the boating community.

Level I - $500

Marine Industry Membership

To be considered for our Marine Industry Membership category, the majority of your business must sell or provide a service that is directly tied to the boating lifestyle. These businesses must exemplify professionalism, minimum codes of conduct and represent themselves as upstanding ambassadors for the marine industry.

Level I - $500

Associate Membership

To be considered for our Associate Membership category, the business must provide support services to marine industry members and/or the boating public. These businesses must exemplify professionalism, minimum codes of conduct and must represent themselves as upstanding ambassadors for the marine industry.

Level II - $3,000

Anchor Member Program

Our Anchor Member Program is our most elite level of membership and is designed to bring together the chief decision makers of our industry.

Participation is by invitation only.

MEMBERSHIP

Joining MIASF will provide access to the largest marine industry network in the Southeast and to boating industry associations in the U.S. and worldwide. With more than 400 members within the region, across the State and beyond, MIASF is one of the most active marine advocacy groups in the industry, with a professional staff to serve members needs in the areas of policy, advocacy, communications and marketing. MIASF is dedicated to members' growth and prosperity, focused on growing marine businesses, promoting the boating lifestyle, connecting leaders, communicating with regional development organizations, and informing legislators.

Communications

MIASF delivers important news and developments to members via newsletters, direct email, social media, and on its website. Drawing on wide participation with marine sources and groups, information is provided on awards, community events, board and committee actions, boat shows, fishing tournaments, marine charities, market information, industry data, as well as local and national marine trends and issues.

Networking

Networking and camaraderie among MIASF members with diverse product and service offerings in the regional marine community is a unique benefit. Member mixers, informative meetings, volunteer opportunities, and other events offer a chance to stay in touch with colleagues and up to date on emerging industry developments. Additional opportunities exist to become actively engaged through serving on MIASF committees and in elected leadership roles.

Advocacy

MIASF has a long-held reputation for strong leadership and successful advocacy on local, state, and federal issues that impact the recreational marine industry. Working closely with regional planners, elected officials, and regulatory agencies is a core value of membership and members receive regular alerts and updates on targeted legislative issues. Advocacy efforts are advanced through MIASF leadership, professional lobbyists, and committee members.

Professional Development & Identification

Identifying as a member of MIASF and using the association logo in communications, on company websites, signage, displays, and publications shows involvement with a professional organization known for focusing on the interests of the marine community and boating public. Participation in meetings and conferences help businesses keep abreast of important industry issues, programs, and developments.

Directories

MIASF produces approximately 3,000 printed membership directories annually in addition to maintaining the online directory, which helps marine customers find members by name, product, or service, and projects a positive image of businesses to current and prospective clients. A tier of advertising opportunities in the printed directory is also available for members interested in further exposure.

Job Search & Recruitment

An electronic job board on the MIASF website helps member companies find qualified workers and allows job seekers to find marine positions. Through its YouTube video series, Salty Jobs, MIASF offers member companies an opportunity to showcase specific jobs and career paths available in the marine industry and includes information on salary ranges and any required certification or licensing. The video series, which is supported by the U.S. Superyacht Association, Palm Beach Marine Industries Association, South Florida Manufacturers Association, International Yacht Brokers Association, and International Superyacht Society, can be viewed on the MIASF and Salty Jobs websites, on YouTube, and are shown in local schools and colleges.
