Job Description for Senior Field Service Engineer

General Job Description The Senior Field Service Engineer performs engineering, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of Bridge Electronics, AV-IT, and AMCS aboard superyachts. Develops and follows SOPs and work instructions, documents quality standards, and reports system anomalies. Assists with engineering tasks as required including, but not limited to, VISIO drawings, SKU review and product enrollment, mock-up plan development, and technical library maintenance. Major Duties & Responsibilities Installation and Service • Installation planning and execution of Radar, Radio, Satellite, ECDIS, VDR, VSAT, BNWAS, Gyros, Speed Logs, Autopilot & Steering systems. • Installation and commissioning of our proprietary Integrated Bridge Systems. • Service equipment through regular maintenance, diagnosing and rectifying malfunctions. Performs installation and/or service of above systems to include cable planning cable handling, cable terminations, rack and field terminations, equipment mounting, and equipment configuration. • Documents process of technical support from initiation of call through problem resolution. • Responsible for compliance with standard written procedures and quality documentation of company policies and procedures of the Telemar Service Department. Compliance Testing and Certification • Perform Annual Performance Test (APT) of VDR systems and GMDSS systems (Rdio Surveys), prepare and submit regulatory paperwork. • Perform and document annual Gyroscope service and overhauls. Design & Engineering Support • Perform MockUp and system programming inhouse prior to installation as specified by engnieering. • Perform Engineering services as defined by Telemar’s engineering procedures and is responsible for final approval of engineering documents. • Performs Technical backup to other field technicians or Telemar staff worldwide as required. Project Management Support • Technical Consultation with the vessel owners, managers, operators, and builders as well classification societies, flag administrations, other naval engineering and architectural companies, entities, and organizations. • Performs final commissioning and client orientation of installed systems. • Responsible for achieving customer satisfaction in the installation process by meeting established deadlines as well as quality and efficiency standards per SOPs. Senior FSE TYA Job Description 2 Specific Job Requirements • Solid understanding of Bridge Electronics systems, Audio/Video systems, Data Networking, PLCs, IOT, and their attendant applications, and functionality, including Control System products and applications. • Must demonstrate prior experience completing technical installation and service of Bridge Electronics systems, Audio/Video systems, Data Networking, PLCs, IOT, and Control Systems. • Ability to troubleshoot complex Bridge Electronics systems, Audio/Video systems, Data Networking, PLCs, IOT, and Control Systems problems. • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse set of project stakeholders including good written and oral communication skills as well as good interpersonal skills is required. • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, VISIO, and Internet) required. • Working knowledge of Marine Vessels and their operating and construction environments. • Ability to perform complex and time-critical tasks with optimum effectiveness and efficiency with little or no supervision in high-pressure situations. • Knowledge of Yachting etiquette

Qualifications for Senior Field Service Engineer

Qualifications for the Job Experience & Certifications • Minimum of ten years Marine Electronics systems, Audio/Video systems, Data Networking, PLC, IOT, and Control Systems or similar role. • Current FCC License with Radar Endorsement (or international equivalent) is required • Current FCC GMDSS Maintainers License is required • Current Marine OSHA Certification (10hr) • Current Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) • Manufacturer training for high seas/maritime equipment is a plus but not required • Military electronics experience is a plus • NMEA CMET, MEI, AMEI, or NMEA2000 is a plus but not required
