Job Title Field Service Engineer Reports To Senior Field Service Engineer General Job Description The Field Service Engineer performs installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of Bridge Electronics, AV-IT, and AMCS aboard superyachts. Follows SOPs and work instructions, documents quality standards, and reports system anomalies. Assists with engineering tasks as required including, but not limited to, product enrollment and performing mock-ups as directed. Major Duties & Responsibilities Installation and Service • Installation of Radar, Radio, Satellite, ECDIS, VDR, VSAT, BNWAS, Gyros, Speed Logs, Autopilot & Steering systems. • Installation of our proprietary Integrated Bridge Systems. • Service equipment through regular maintenance, diagnosing and rectifying malfunctions. • Performs installation and/or service of above systems to include cable terminations, rack and field terminations, equipment mounting, and equipment configuration. • Documents process of technical support from initiation of call through problem resolution. • Responsible for compliance with standard written procedures and quality documentation of company policies and procedures of the Telemar Service Department. Compliance Testing and Certification • Assist Senior FSE with Annual Performance Test (APT) of VDR systems and GMDSS systems (Radio Surveys), prepare and submit regulatory paperwork. • Assist Senior FSE with annual Gyroscope service and overhauls. Design & Engineering Support • Assist Senior FSE with MockUp and system programming inhouse prior to installation as specified by engineering. • Assist Senior FSE with Technical backup to other field technicians or Telemar staff worldwide as required. Project Management Support • Assist Senior FSE with Technical Consultation with the vessel owners, managers, operators, and builders as well classification societies, flag administrations, other naval engineering and architectural companies, entities, and organizations. • Assist Senior FSE with final commissioning and client orientation of installed systems. • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction in the installation process by meeting established deadlines as well as quality and efficiency standards per SOPs. FSE TYA Job Description 2 Specific Job Requirements • Solid understanding of Bridge Electronics systems, Audio/Video systems, Data Networking, PLCs, IOT, and their attendant applications, and functionality, including Control System products and applications. • Must demonstrate prior experience completing technical installation and service of Bridge Electronics systems, Audio/Video systems, Data Networking, PLCs, IOT, and Control Systems. • Ability to troubleshoot complex Bridge Electronics systems, Audio/Video systems, Data Networking, PLCs, IOT, and Control Systems problems. • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse set of project stakeholders including good written and oral communication skills as well as good interpersonal skills is required. • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Internet) required. • Working knowledge of Marine Vessels and their operating and construction environments. • Ability to perform complex and time-critical tasks with optimum effectiveness and efficiency with little or no supervision in high-pressure situations. • Knowledge of Yachting etiquette.
Qualifications for Field Service Engineer
Qualifications for the Job Experience & Certifications • Minimum of five years Marine Electronics systems, Audio/Video systems, Data Networking, PLC, IOT, and Control Systems or similar role. • Current FCC License with Radar Endorsement is desirable, but not required. • Current FCC GMDSS Maintainers License is desirable, but not required. • Current Marine OSHA Certification (10hr) is required. • Current Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) is desirable, but not required. • Manufacturer training for high seas/maritime equipment is a plus but not required. • Military electronics experience is desirable, but not required. • NMEA CMET, MEI, AMEI, or NMEA2000 is is desirable, but not required. Personal Attributes: • Fluent English, both oral and written, as well as outstanding communication and coaching skills. • Italian as a second or third language is a plus. • Driven, resilient, trusted and forward-thinking. • Organized with excellent time management skills. • Leadership, Teamwork, and Collaboration skills. • Personal Effectiveness/Credibility/Ethics. • Problem Solving/Analysis. • Desire to make a strong impact in a small company. Other Qualifications Required • High School Diploma or GED is required • Associates Degree, technical degree, or Bachelor’s Degree preferred • Valid FL Driver’s License • Current Passport Physical Requirements Must be able to regularly lift packages weighing up to 50lb
