Job Description for Workshop Machinist

General Description (Duties): Workshop Machinist must provide exceptional customer service, maintain a flexible work schedule and use independent judgement and reasoning to support the highest level of quality and service delivery. Professionalism, integrity and accountability are core requirements. A person in this position will be responsible for: Reports to: Workshop Manager Responsibilities: • Ensure conformity of QMS by performing machining, fabrication, and reconditioning works as directed by the Workshop Supervisor. • In some instances, Workshop Machinists will be required to travel to perform onsite machining works either Solo or under the direction of a Service or In-situ Engineer. • Execution of support functions such as honing liners, Machining of Cylinder heads, reconditioning of connecting rods. • Ability to quantify and record fine metric measurements of OD’s ID’s, thickness, depth, ovality and wear. Proper use of bore gauge, dial gauge, snap gauges, Vernier calipers, deflection gauges and other common measurement instruments. • Completion of all paperwork to include, daily time sheets, expense reports, service reports, measurement sheets and working logs as necessary to insure proper documentation of work performed in accordance with our Quality Documents. • Participation in all pre-job safety meetings, following all safety requirements and adherence to Company safety protocols. • Proper use of all tooling, equipment and machines after properly trained. • Participation in Pre-job meetings, tool preparation, verification of calibration certificates of assets, perform cleaning, inspection and storage of tools and equipment in accordance with required specifications. Other Skills or Requirements: • Must hold a valid driver’s license and have permission to work in the US • Willingness to travel as necessary to assist with outside works. (Not a requirement but is an attribute) • Adapt to frequently changing schedules and tight timelines • Able to follow QMS, HSE policies and procedures • Initiative to work individually as well as in a team environment with minimum supervision • Organization and time management skills • Ability to complete job related paperwork.

Qualifications for Workshop Machinist

Minimum Educational Qualifications: • High School Diploma or GED required. Associates degree, Diesel, electronics, welding or mechanical disciplines preferred Minimum Previous Experience: • 3-Years practical experience working in Machine shops or similar industry.
