Job Description for Warehouse Team Lead
The Warehouse Team Lead will assist the Warehouse Manager with overseeing operations in the warehouse. This includes maintaining an accurate and accountable inventory control system, overseeing order fulfillment and related issues and ensuring all customer service issues are handled in a concise and timely fashion. Key Departmental Responsibilities • Serve as the backup and main warehouse point of contact when the Warehouse Manager is absent. • Assist Warehouse Manager with the organization and future capacity requirements in the warehouse. • Ensure correct/updated procedures are being followed; monitor the safety of employees in the warehouse in accordance with OSHA standards; interrupt any dangerous behaviors and report them to Human Resources and the Warehouse Manager. • Take precautions to secure warehouse contents against loss. • Maintain full inventory cycle counting program. Identify and implement process improvements to the cycle counting program. • Ensure all inventory is assigned to the proper bin(s). • Assist in the coordination of timely processing of shipment receipts from packaging, vendors and customer returns (includes verification of correct part numbers and quantities). Stock parts in correct bin locations as directed by the ERP system. • Pick parts for customer orders ensuring correct item number and quantity; package orders in a manner that will minimize damage during shipment; and process orders using the delivery method indicated. • Pick parts for WOs and SROs for the DSC and FIE departments ensuring correct item number and quantity. • Work in conjunction with IT and the Warehouse Manager on evaluating and implementing new technologies. • Ensure conformance with the requirements of the Diesel Forward Quality Management System. • Assist other employees both in and out of the department. • Provide feedback on system needs/changes. • Perform other related duties and assignments as required.
Qualifications for Warehouse Team Lead
High School diploma or equivalent required. Previous warehouse supervision/management experience beneficial. Forklift operator certification (training provided on-site if needed). Customer service oriented. Well organized. Detail oriented. A self-starter with initiative and proven willingness to assume ownership for areas of responsibility. Ability to make informed decisions quickly and independently. Strong inter-personal communication and employee relations skills and have ability to train others to these skills. Must have the ability to lift up to fifty pounds on a regular basis. Computer skills required. Bi-lingual English & Spanish preferred.
