Job Description for Dockhand

The Dockhand, under general supervision, is responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the marina. Assist the customer with docking and tying of vessel safely and providing any other service for the customer to the best of their ability. Individuals in this position must provide a high level of customer service and present a welcoming and professional image at all time. • Able to assist customers with docking and tying of vessels safely • Able to assist Forklift drivers with proper placement of boats and inventory • Keep dock free of debris and clutter, including hoses and dock lines which must be stowed properly • Ensure that all visitors enjoy an exceptional customer experience at the marina • Other duties as assigned • Assist the Dock Masters and others in marina-related tasks such as securing boats to docks, and connecting and monitoring utility services • Assist Facilities team with internal projects and maintenance. • Assist with towing vessels within the marina *Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Qualifications for Dockhand

• Years of relevant work experience required: 2 years’ experience docking and tying vessels • Required licenses or certificates: No • People Management: No • Direct reports titles: Dockmaster Physical Demands and Work Environment • Requires climbing, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and twisting • Requires the ability to use speech, vision and hearing • Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations • Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 75 pounds • Exposure to changes in temperature and humidity The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions.
