Young Professionals in Yachting announces award recipients at annual banquet February 24, 2016
Young Professionals in Yachting celebrated its membership and past year’s accomplishments at its annual banquet on Friday, January 22. During the event, several members were recognized for their hard work and dedication to the organization.
Marc Gadbois of Tradesmen International was recognized as Member of the Year; Sharon Abramson of the Marine Industries Association of South Florida received the Helping Hands award; Alex Duke of Fraser Yachts was recognized as the organization’s Rising Star; Samantha Weiler of Loom Luxury Linens was recognized as Board Member of the Year; and Jason Blunt of PI Marine received the organization’s Legacy Award.
Young Professionals in Yachting was launched in 2009 in Fort Lauderdale and has since developed into a strong group of approximately 250 marine industry professionals based in key yachting hubs around the world including Fort Lauderdale, Monaco and London. A Holland chapter is in the works.
YPY proudly partners in fundraising activities with other local nonprofits including the Marine Industries Association of South Florida, the Marine Industry Cares Foundation and the Freedom Waters Foundation. YPY members volunteered their time at this year’s Marine Industry Day and the organization was a ‘Top Five’ fundraiser for the Marine Industry Cares Spin-A-Thon.
