Beach Sweeps are coordinated monthly by Keep Broward Beautiful and local community partner agencies such as Volunteer Hollywood, Volunteer Broward, City of Fort Lauderdale, City of Deerfield Beach and the City of Pompano Beach.
Beach Sweeps are normally scheduled for the 2nd Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., but dates and locations are subject to change. Email Litterprevention@broward.org or call the Litter Hotline at 954-474-1835 to receive registration and location information.

Volunteers must wear proper cleanup attire:
-T-shirt and shorts are acceptable
-All volunteers must wear close-toed shoes. No flip flops.Volunteers wearing flip flops will not be allowed to participate
-Volunteers are recommended to wear a hat and sunscreen, and bring their own water
-With the South Florida heat, a snack is also a good idea to bring
Minimum age to volunteer is eight (8), and an adult must accompany all minors.
Trash bags and gloves will be provided by Keep Broward Beautiful. A short safety meeting with cleanup directions will be given prior to the cleanup on the day of the event by staff. Volunteers should park and come to the meeting arealook for the Adopt-A-Street van or banner near the volunteer meeting area.
Carpooling is highly recommended. Not only is it a good thing for the environment, but parking on the beach is limited. We cannot guarantee all volunteers free parking.
