Waterway View February 28, 2018
MIASF is pleased to announce a first-of-its-kind collaboration with the region’s Google Maps Street View content provider to use Street View technology to map the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) and the network of rivers, inlets, and commercial canals throughout South Florida, along with featuring the many waterfront and land-based businesses serving boaters.
Just as Google Street View has become a trusted tool for businesses to connect with customers, Waterway View has the potential to be the most exciting new resource for the boating lifestyle, connecting boaters directly with marinas, fuel docks, service and sales centers, restaurants, and all the other resources a boater may need.
Waterway View imaging will begin this month and continue into May until the entire ICW is captured from the northern Palm Beach County line south to Key Largo. Each section captured will be published to Google Maps starting in early March, and a free Waterway View mobile app will be available from Google Play, Apple App Store, and the MIASF website in June. A web-based version of the mobile app will be available to the public beginning in March and continually updated as more content is added.
MIASF members will automatically receive a free standard listing, however, members have an opportunity to be prominently displayed in the Waterway View mobile app by purchasing a “Promoted Listing” at a discounted price. With a promoted listing a business’ Google Map marker will be boldly identified on the Waterway View mobile app. When the map marker is tapped, users will be presented with the company logo, a personalized write-up about the business, photos and videos, tap-to-call, tap-to-get directions, tap-to-view website, and a Google Street View Virtual Tour of the business, if available. A promoted listing for members is $45 per month ($540 paid annually).
For companies that don’t already have one, a Google Street View Virtual Tour can be created by our Google Street View content provider. The Virtual Tour enhances the business’ presence in Google and a copy of the content can be displayed on the company website and social media pages. For MIASF members, there is a one-time fee of $395 to capture up to 4,000 square feet of space. (If the space is larger, additional imagery can be purchased.)
To place an order or request more details about either of these exposure opportunities, complete and submit the online form linked here and our Google Street View partner, Jim Hilker, will contact you with the pricing and details.
Important note: The only way to request to participate in this opportunity is by filling out and submitting this online form. No person connected to this project will cold-call or tele-market you. If anyone tries, know they are not part of this program. Do not purchase from them and please notify MIASF right away.
MIASF offers its special thanks to MarineMax and BOW for sponsoring the mapping boats that will be used to complete this extraordinary project.
