Cruising Cuba: U.S. Compliance and Regulation – March 29. Captains are invited to this educational panel and discussion with Commander Bradley Clare with U.S. Coast Guard Sector Miami, Michael Moore, senior partner with Moore & Co. and representatives from Stonegate Bank, the first U.S. bank with a correspondent relationship with Cuba’s central bank. MIASF Goes to Maritime Mondays – April 4. Join MIASF at Riverside Market South, 3218 S.E. 6th Ave., Fort Lauderdale, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., for valuable networking. First beverage is complimentary for employees of MIASF member businesses and a guest.

Plywood Regatta – April 8-9. MIASF’s 20th annual Plywood Regatta is a two-day event where students will attempt to build sea-worthy vessels on Saturday, April 8 using simple hand-tools and only a limited set of supplied materials. Then on Sunday, April 9, the public is invited to come watch as the students compete in a fun-filled and friendly rivalry when the finished boats line up and race in a series of heats to determine which boats actually are seaworthy and which boats exude that sinking feeling! Marine Industry Day – June 18. The 3rd annual Marine Industry Day is a free family-oriented event aimed at celebrating the region’s marine industry through a variety of fun, interactive experiences organized by MIASF. It features live music, food trucks, children’s activities, numerous marine-related activities, water taxi tours, educational games and much more. Learn more at
