Trade Only Today: Show Management hires firm to promote Fort Lauderdale show June 16, 2015
Show Management, the organization that produces one of the largest in-water boat shows in the world — the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show — chose Starmark International for a new brand, creative campaign and website to be launched this year.
“We’ve been growing this phenomenal boat show for over 55 years, but the 56th year is going to be the most amazing ever and we wanted to go out with a new look and feel to reflect our vision,” Show Management president Efrem “Skip” Zimbalist III said in a statement. “As an international award-winning advertising and marketing firm that has been working in the marine industry for over 30 years and for the last nine years with the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau, Starmark is positioned as the best creative group for the work.”
Active Interest Media owns both Show Management and Soundings Trade Only.
Show Management vice president of consumer marketing Brett Keating said Starmark’s destination marketing experience has given it “a global perspective that the boat show wants to leverage.”
“We bring the best and the brightest to Greater Fort Lauderdale during boat show week,” Keating said. “Flights are full to Fort Lauderdale airport, hotels are bursting at the seams with visitors, executive airports double and triple the flights they handle, and we want our brand, our website and our ad campaign, which Starmark will also design, to reflect the world-class status we’ve achieved both as a show and a destination.”
Keating said the many new events, happenings and displays at this year’s show will be revealed in the time leading up to the new Nov. 5-9 show schedule.
“Our team has got the pedal to the metal to do the thinking and creating that this international event deserves,” Starmark president Jacqui Hartnett said. “We are working with Show Management and the Marine Industries Association of South Florida to make this our Super Bowl every year in terms of economic impact, as well as the best boat show in the world.”
Starmark CEO Peggy Nordeen added that the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau, the MIASF and Broward County will collaborate again this year to host the second annual International Marine Hub luncheon on the first day of the show.
