Summer Internship Program April 30, 2018

Congratulations to Noah Dermody and Denison Yacht Sales! Noah Dermody grew up boating, fishing, and hunting in Florida and has a passion for the marine industry. Now a Florida State University student majoring in Environment and Society, he contacted MIASF in pursuit of a summer internship. MIASF connected Noah with Denison Yacht Sales, where he successfully secured a summer marketing internship. Well done!

Interested in hiring a summer intern? Finding skilled workers is the number one challenge to American companies. By investing in paid summer internships for high school and college students, marine businesses can begin to fill the employee pipeline, help young people develop necessary soft skills, and spark the interest of hard-working students to join the marine industry. In return, business leaders will get innovative ideas from students who don’t possess preconceived ideas of what can and can’t be done. Sean Smith, MIASF’s director of development and host of Salty Jobs, will be interviewing and assessing eligible students from the South Broward High School Marine Magnet program in May. Contact him now at to get on the list to meet the best and the brightest!
