Salty Jobs: Episode 2 – TowBoatU.S. Fort Lauderdale December 22, 2016

MIASF released the latest episode of Salty Jobs, a video series that showcases marine industry career opportunities in the South Florida area. “Salty Jobs,” featuring MIASF’s Director of Development, Sean Smith, as the series’ host, takes a unique approach to introducing a wide range of jobs associated with the marine industry to local schools, workforce agencies, and the public.

In the second episode of the series, Sean introduces viewers to TowBoatU.S. Fort Lauderdale, a towing, salvage, and marine assistance company, and joins the crew on a mayday call for a boater in distress.

The series is an ideal way to present the different types of jobs that are available in the industry, engaging a younger audience about the potential to secure life-long careers that allow for home ownership, the ability to raise a family, and the opportunity to save for retirement, reinforcing the fact that the 136,000 marine-related jobs in our region typically pay 28% more than the State average.

The video series airs online at and will also be broadly distributed throughout the region. Click here to watch the video.
