The Marine Engineering Management degree is designed to prepare students interested in a career in the large yacht maintenance, repair and retrofit industry. Broward County is the world leader in the yacht industry and is in high demand of qualified technicians to work on yachts with diesel engines and sophisticated sustainable systems. Boat and Yacht Installation/Repair Technology provides students with the technology necessary to qualify for employment as carpenters, cabinet makers, wood finishers, spray and brush painters, fiberglass laminators and repair persons within the marine industry.

Marine Service Technology is a job preparatory program that presents students with technical and manipulative skills that are necessary to diagnose, overhaul and repair marine systems and their components.

The Welding program offers students the opportunity to become skilled welders and welder helpers by providing instruction in the basics of welding, with equal emphasis on theory and hands-on experiences.

All students who come to New River Middle School are provided with Marine Science enhancement throughout the disciplines.
