MIASF was pleased to share a booth with Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (FXE) and promote FLIBS at this year’s National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition in Orlando, Florida from October 16th through 18th, joining more than 25,000 industry professionals, including aircraft owners, manufacturers, and prospective customers.
The Flagship Room at MIASF’s headquarters was near capacity on Friday, October 18th for “Breakfast with the Business Journal”, South Florida Business Journal’s popular bi-monthly event, and to celebrate the release of the 4th Annual Special Marine Section of the weekly business publication.
For the fourth year running, MIASF has spearheaded the SFBJ special marine industry section, including ‘The List’ of top marine companies’ revenue and employees, in order to emphasize the size and scope of the industry to local and regional readers of the SFBJ, including C-suite executives, elected officials, and community leaders.
As an industry that has an $11.5 billion impact on the region, it is so important for marine-based companies to step up and be counted in the book of lists, in which so many other industries have historically participated. The SFBJ Special Marine Section, which comes out strategically just before the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, showcases the tremendous strength of the industry and its influence on the local economy.
MIASF was humbled to accept the Habitat for Humanity/Broward Soul of Humanity Award on Wednesday, October 24th at Habitat for Humanity’s annual awards reception. Accepting the award on behalf of MIASF and the member companies that have participated in sponsoring home-builds were Lori Wheeler/Director of Operations and Sean Smith/Director of Development.
The Official FLIBS Kick Off Party, in partnership with Fort Lauderdale Magazine, Informa, and MIASF, was held on Thursday, October 25th at the W Hotel in Fort Lauderdale. Guests enjoyed a fun-filled evening with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and music to celebrate the start of the upcoming 59th Annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
