MIASF Scholarship Recipient is Area’s Newest Entrepreneur October 25, 2016
After years of participating in MIASF’s annual Plywood Regatta as a student at Cardinal Gibbons High School, Kevin O’Neal became a recipient of an MIASF scholarship in 2014, which he promptly used to attend Broward College and earn a degree in Marine Management and Engineering. Now, at 27 years old, Kevin is on the verge of opening his own store, Salt H2O Custom Tackle, located in the Quay on 17th St.
As a fisherman himself, Kevin saw the need for an entirely new concept in saltwater tackle stores and dreamed of building a shop that would set him apart from the competition. With the opening of SaltH2O on November 1st, Kevin’s goal is to “tackle” the boat show market by providing a clean, modern, and welcoming environment and earning loyal customers by offering genuine hospitality, educational seminars, the finest products and service in the world of saltwater fishing, and the latest point of sale technology and inventory maintenance software. Join us in wishing Kevin all the best in his new endeavor!
