Member updates: LMC, Triton, MICF, Northrop & Johnson, Palm Harbor Marina, Lumishore April 27, 2016

John Terrill, the dockmaster at Lauderdale Marine Center, has been named business development manager. The boatyard is also reevaluating its mix of contractors, has added scheduling software and staff and has established a set of contractor guidelines, according to The Triton.

Lucy Reed is the new publisher of the Triton. David Reed remains the president, and Suzette Cook is the new editor.

The Marine Industry Cares Foundation is accepting applications for scholarships through its Creative Arts Summer Camp Contest. The deadline is Friday, April 29. Learn more or submit your entry at www.marineindustrycares.org/2016-summer-camp-contest.

Lou Sola, CEO of Evermarine, has joined Northrop & Johnson as a sales broker in its Fort Lauderdale office. Lou, who has more than 20 years of experience in the international maritime industry and holds an international captains license and has sailed and fished around the globe, will also serve a client base in Central America. Lou also has worked in maritime security, port development and operations, ship repairs, luxury marinas, cruise ports and yachting facilities. As a sales broker, he has sold more than 125 yachts, valued at more than $300 million.

Palm Harbor Marina recently celebrated the completion of its dock expansion. The marina now has 200 slips and increased lineal footage on the E-dock, allowing it to accommodate more yachts up to 250’. Construction was handled by MarineTek.

Lumishore, manufacturer of underwater LED lighting systems in the U.S and United Kingdom, has been awarded the 2016 Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation. The award is the UK’s highest business accolade and recognizes Lumishore’s innovation and resulting commercial success for a period of over five years. This is the third consecutive year Lumishore has won the award, which endorses the highest levels of excellence for Britain’s elite companies. In 2014 and 2015, Lumishore was recognized for its contribution to International Trade.
