Member updates: FYBA, Rolly, USSA, Derecktor and more April 17, 2015

The Florida Yacht Brokers Association has hired Cindy Sailor as its new executive director. Sailor joins FYBA from Active Interest Media’s Power & Motoryacht magazine, where she was associate publisher, and has worked at various other marine and non-marine-related publications during her 25-year publishing career.

Rolly Marine got a perfect score on its city of Fort Lauderdale fire inspection – inspectors did not find any violations anywhere in the yard. “Prevention and training are the key to our successful inspection,” General Manager Greg Poulos said.

Fort Lauderdale commissioners voted to put out a request for proposals to expand the city-owned Las Olas Marina. The city wants a larger marina that can accommodate more “megayachts,” according to the Sun Sentinel.

The U.S. Superyacht Association will be working out of a new location starting on April 21. The office’s new address is 2601 S.W. 13th Ave., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33315.

Derecktor Florida has partnered with Taylor Lane Yacht and Ship and installed a gate so its Travel Lift can go between the two properties. This allows them to lift boats for TLYS and move them back and forth between the yards.
