According to a recent article in the Sun Sentinel, Americas for Oceanmax International Ltd. in Fort Lauderdale, a Propspeed distributor, recently named James Maitland its national sales director. The career move is a natural progression, says Maitland, who began working with the coating system designed to prevent marine growth from bonding to metal surfaces below the water line, such as propellers and running gear in 2008 during his time with Port Supply in Annapolis, MD. From that point on, Maitland’s expertise about the product increased as he set up training demos. Maitland has a passion for boating and the marine industry and a desire to help promote the industry and the communities that surround it. This is the first time that Oceanmax, headquartered in Auckland, New Zealand, has had a national sales director presence in the U.S. The positon creates a link between the technical sales support staff on the ground and the corporate boardroom.
