Island Global Yachting (IGY Marinas) announced further expansion of its marina collection into the Mediterranean, with the addition of Marina di Porto Cervo in Northern Sardinia – Italy. The 700-slip facility, owned by Porto Cervo Marina S.R.L (PCM), provides luxury yachting accommodations for yachts up to 160 meters (525 feet). Effective February 27th, 2018, IGY Marinas will support PCM in the management of the marina and boatyard operations including marketing, branding, and customer service.

With the upcoming 2018 yachting season in the Mediterranean, the operations team of IGY Marinas is working closely with the Executive Team of PCM to implement best practices and operating procedures, which have become the trademark of all marinas within the IGY portfolio.

Porto Cervo Marina is located 130 nautical miles off the west coast of mainland Italy, on the beautiful island of Sardinia. Porto Cervo, founded by HH the Aga Khan, serves as a haven along the 55km coastline of Costa Smeralda and provides easy access to some of the most desired cruising grounds in the Mediterranean including; the Amalfi Coast, the Italian Rivera, and the Cote D’Azur. The marina facility offers high-speed fueling, waste management, yacht services, provisioning, and world-class on-site dining and shopping. Surrounding the marina is an abundance of nightlife, entertainment on the resort of Porto Cervo, along with breathtaking beaches and turquoise blue waters.

Scarano Marine announced the opening of its new authorized MAN dealer office in Miami. With its new location, it is able to help with the sales of genuine MAN parts, engine sales, and authorized service and repairs. In addition, it can export to South America, Central America, and the Caribbean.

Now with two locations, Scarano Marine continues servicing all other brands (MTU, CAT, Detroit Diesel, Kohler, Onan, etc.)

Iconic Miami shipyard RMK Merrill-Stevens has announced plans to replace its 70-ton travel lift with a new 100-ton travel lift, the latest improvement in a transformational overhaul.

The announcement comes as the yard decommissioned its 1950s-era ship-lift as work progresses on the a new, state-of-the-art 2,700-ton ship-lift. When completed this year, the north yard will offer multiple dry berths up to 230 feet and in-water berths ranging from 130 feet to a 450-foot berth that can accommodate multiple yachts.

The addition of the superyacht lift on the north side of the Miami River and 100-ton lift on the south side are part of a $30 million capital improvement campaign that includes new facilities, equipment, workshops and crew amenities.

Northrop & Johnson’s Fort Lauderdale office has moved from its location on Rose Drive to Lauderdale Marine Center — the largest yacht repair facility and shipyard in the United States. Lauderdale Marine Center also offers a marina for dockage.

The Northrop & Johnson Fort Lauderdale office now will be located in the heart of the city’s maritime traffic. The new address is 2015 SW 20th Street, Suite 200, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33315. The new office will bring all divisions of Northrop & Johnson under one roof. Brokerage and new construction, charter retail, charter management and crew services all will be housed in the new suite, which has been completely rebuilt for Northrop & Johnson. The 10,000-square-foot office will have two conference rooms, multiple meeting areas, offers office suites for all brokers, features a full galley, gym and ample space for growth.
