Fort Lauderdale-based Palladium Technologies has created an automated electrical distribution system as an alternative to the large electrical breaker distribution panels traditionally installed on each deck of a yacht, as well as the long cable runs needed to connect the breaker panels to each electrical consumer – lighting, galley appliances, electrical outlets, air-conditioning handlers. The Titan Octoplex offers smaller breaker panels that can be monitored and controlled remotely, and therefore can be placed close to the consumer electrical systems, in deck-heads or other hidden locations, eliminating the need for accessibility. According to the company, the Titan system saves on space, weight and cost; reduces build times via its prewiring; and offers remote monitoring and immediate notification of breaker trips, resulting in quicker fault resolution time.
Motor-Services Hugo Stamp, a Fort Lauderdale-based provider of power systems, has created a partnership with ZF Marine Propulsion Systems. A South Florida-based manufacturer of marine propulsion systems, ZF Marine supplies transmissions, control systems, thrusters, propellers and surface drives for all types of ships, including mega yachts. ZF Marine and MSHS plan to offer the combination of progressive technology, technical expertise and 24/7 support.
Lauderdale Marine Center (LMC), the largest yacht repair facility in the U.S., is pleased to announce the appointment of Colin Kiley as executive vice president and Jeff Partin as director of business development.
Kiley brings over 30 years of experience in the marine industry to his position at LMC where he will manage all aspects of the customer experience including sales, business development, marketing guest services and contractor relations. He previously served as president of Nautical Structures Industries. Prior to that, he served with Doug West as vice president of sales and marketing and chief supply chain management officer at Rybovich Boat Co LLC. He studied mechanical engineering at Tulane University and project management at Nova Southeastern University.
Partin brings 28 years of marine industry experience to his position at LMC where he is responsible for seeking out new business opportunities, negotiating and maintaining business relationships, and working with the sales team to increase market share and improve customer experience and retention. His time in the industry includes the role of captain, project manager and 15 years in brokerage, most recently with Superyacht Sales and Charter. He serves on the board of directors of the International Yacht Brokers Association (IYBA) and is chair of the IYBA Ethics Committee, Annual golf tournament and East and West Coast Sales Summits.
MarineMax, the nation’s largest recreational boat and yacht retailer, announced that the Board of Directors has promoted W. Brett McGill to Chief Executive Officer and he will continue to serve as President. William H. McGill, Jr., the company’s prior Chief Executive Officer and Chairman, has been named Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Brett McGill served as MarineMax’s President and Chief Operating Officer beginning in October 2017 after serving as Chief Operating Officer from October 2016 and as Executive Vice President Operations from October 2015. He served as Executive Vice President of West Operations beginning in May 2012 and he served as one of the Company’s Regional Presidents from May 2006 to 2012. Brett McGill launched his career with MarineMax in 1998 and held positions which included Director of Information Services, as well as Vice President of Information Technology, Service and Parts.

The new tool showcases full-feature functionality, including Search capability within Sierra’s extensive parts catalog. For years, dealers and service techs have hunched over stacks of well-worn catalogs in search of parts and part numbers. Now, that practice is on its way out, thanks to SONAR – the new Sierra Online Application Resource. A dedicated team of application specialists, software engineers and digital designers has been hard at work to make SONAR one of the easiest, most efficient ways for Jerry’s customers to find and purchase Sierra products with just a couple of clicks. SONAR provides not only searchable part numbers, but detailed exploded drawings of key engine systems, extensive application information and Sierra/OEM part number cross-references. An online FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) section can be easily referenced for more information and basic instructions.
