Marine Industry Led by MIASF, Partners with Habitat for Humanity and Builds Home October 14, 2014
Members of the marine community will be getting construction dust on their deck shoes beginning in January when they join the new construction project of two townhomes for Habitat for Humanity of Broward. MIASF is sponsoring funding and recruiting volunteers to help build a property at 732 NW 15th Ave in Fort Lauderdale. In addition to supporting a family(ies) in need of decent, affordable housing, the effort helps keep the community vibrant, keeps people in the local workforce, benefits businesses providing materials to the project and living supplies to the families, while utilizing the marine industry as the platform to facilitate.
Sponsors are critical partners in helping Habitat Broward make affordable homeownership a reality for families in need. In addition to covering construction costs, home sponsors are invited to volunteer alongside hardworking partner families, participate in groundbreaking and dedication ceremonies, and participate in media and publicity opportunities.
Celebrating over 30 years of building homes and building hope in Broward County, Habitat for Humanity of Broward is a non-profit, non-denominational Christian housing ministry that has successfully built more than 360 homes throughout Broward. Dedicated to eradicating substandard housing by building simple, decent, affordable homes in partnership with low and very-low income families in need, Habitat for Humanity is a catalyst for individual and community transformation.
