Legendary Golfer Advocates for the Marine Industry November 20, 2014

FORT LAUDERDALE – Legendary Golfer Jack Nicklaus is highlighted in a new video championing boating lifestyles and the sizeable economic impact of the marine industry in South Florida.

“One of my favorite past times is boating,” says Nicklaus. “I’ve been fortunate to own boats most of my adult life and I’ve been able to spend time on the water with my children, grandchildren and friends. Here in the sunshine state, boating is a critical part our economy.”

The video, produced by Warren Miller Films for the Marine Industries Association of South Florida and Show Management, also features boat yards and family businesses that are a staples of the marine Industry. In the tri-county region of Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach, there are 136,465 marine jobs that contribute to this $11.5 billion industry.

“The marine industry is the back bone of South Florida’s economy,” said Phil Purcell, executive director of the Marine Industries Association of South Florida (MIASF.)
