MIASF is spearheading a Habitat for Humanity home build project in conjunction with the Marine Industry Cares Foundation as part of both organization’s commitment to supporting and giving back to the community.
The home is located at 732 NW 15 Ave. in Fort Lauderdale and two deserving families have already been selected. Construction is scheduled to begin on the duplex property in May 2015 with a target completion date of early fall. There are sponsorship opportunities and volunteer opportunities where companies or organizations can participate as part of team building, or simply community building efforts.
How Sponsorship Works
There are three main sponsor opportunity categories and various options that include onsite sponsorship, print, digital, social media promotions, website/newsletter promotions and participation in the news and media coverage. Sponsorship provides exposure opportunities through brand placement, advertising, team building days and an immeasurable amount of community service satisfaction that is inherent in a Habitat for Humanity build project. Additionally, sponsors can benefit from the Community Contribution Tax Credit Program, a Florida Department of Economic Opportunity initiative that provides a financial incentive (up to 50 percent tax credit or sales tax refund) to encourage Florida businesses to make donations toward community development and housing projects for low-income persons.
